The use of bouncy castles has become increasingly popular in the UK as a source of entertainment and fun for children and adults alike. However, with the rise of imports from China, there has been a growing concern about the dangers of buying unsafe bouncy castles. The problem with buying from China is that they produce for so many countries around the world, and they struggle to get the standards and styles correct for each country. It's difficult enough for them to get the UK regulations correct without constant guidance, design tweaks and multiple checks along the way.
One of the major issues with importing bouncy castles from China is that they may not be subject to the same testing and regulations as UK-made products. In the UK, bouncy castles are required to meet specific safety standards, such as the European standard EN14960, which ensures that the inflatable is designed and constructed to minimize the risk of injury. However, many Chinese manufacturers do not adhere to these standards, which means that the bouncy castles they export may not be safe for use.
Another concern is that many Chinese companies are sales-based rather than factory-based, with only 3% of sales companies having a factory. This means that the quality control and safety checks are not done as effectively as it would be in a factory. Additionally, it becomes harder to track back the origin of the product and guarantee its safety.
Furthermore, importing bouncy castles from China can also be subject to import fees, import VAT, and can be dangerous or go missing during transportation. And in case of any issues with safety or malfunctions, it is harder to hold the Chinese company accountable.
Another issue is that many of the Chinese factories produce 30+ variants of a single product for worldwide production and complying with and monitoring the ever-evolving regulations of each country for updates and rule changes is where china constantly lets the UK down and why we see no china direct companies established in the UK. This makes it difficult for them to produce a product that meets all the regulations of each country
