Welcome to the Betterbounce (BISA Scheme) safety verification page.
This page is intended to verify the status of inflatable test certificates and ensure that users have the correct information, instructions, and documentation to manage inflatables safely.
As part of the manufacturing process, all our inflatables undergo strict testing procedures to ensure that they comply with relevant guidance. This testing is done in line with the HSE Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) requirements, which state that inflatables must be tested annually by a competent person. This is the only law in relation to testing inflatables.
To ensure that manufacturers comply with this law, inflatables must be fixed with appropriate markings and have a valid certificate to prove to users that they are safe to use.
The Betterbounce Inflatable testing scheme (BISA) issues these certificates and covers a wide range of inflatables, including EN14960 inflatables designed specifically for bouncing and sliding by children under the age of 14, as well as novelty inflatables, simulator inflatables, rodeo inflatables, activity inflatables, knockout inflatables, adult inflatables, and other inflatable items falling outside the scope of EN14960. Other similar brands of schemes you may have heard of include RPII, ADIPS, SIS, TUV, NAFLIC & PIPA , among many other manufacturer schemes.
To ensure the safety of all participants, it is essential that only competent individuals operate inflatables. In addition to being competent in the supervision elements of EN14960, the operator must check that the inflatable tag on the front of the inflatable has been completed with the required supervision details and that the inflatable has a valid test certificate. Prior to operating this inflatable, it is mandatory to read and understand the instruction manual, design review, certification, and any risk assessments associated with this inflatable.
Operator manual Download Below
To ensure optimal performance and safety, it is essential for operators to carefully review and adhere to the instructions outlined in the operator's manual. The manual contains important information about proper use, maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety guidelines specific to the product. Neglecting to review and follow the guidelines outlined in the manual may lead to equipment damage, operator injury, or even worse, an accident involving users. As such, we insists that all operators and users take the time to thoroughly review and understand the content of the operator's manual before using any equipment which can be downloaded by clicking on the link below.

Check a test this inflatables test certificate status
To check if an inflatable has been tested by Betterbounce, and if the test certification is valid, Simply follow the link below and enter the inflatables serial number into the search system to verify the test status of the inflatable. The serial number should be found within the manufacturer's tag on the front of the inflatable.

Please be aware that this database can only search for inflatables tested by our scheme. A missing or expired certificate may not mean the inflatable is unsafe or untested. The operator may have opted to use another scheme after the inflatables initial 12 months certification. Check around the inflatable for another tag or link or ask the operator for a copy of the certificate.

Information for inflatable owners & operators
Before operating your new inflatable, it is important to read and fully understand the following guidelines to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
As an operator, it is your responsibility to take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of all individuals involved in the operation of inflatables. While it is not a legal requirement, we strongly advise all operators to follow good practices and take necessary steps to minimize risks and prevent accidents.
The following information provides a quick guide of what you should and should not do as an operator to keep both owners and operators up to date. These guidelines are based on years of experience in the industry and have been relied upon in court in the event of accidents or disputes. However, please note that this is not an exhaustive list and it is the operator's responsibility to ensure all necessary precautions are taken to ensure safe operation.
It is also important to note that these guidelines apply not only to fixed inflatables but also to mobile events where inflatables are used. When operating inflatables at mobile events, it is crucial to ensure that all guidelines are adhered to and that necessary precautions are taken to ensure the safety of participants and operators.
We recommend that operators take out public liability insurance to protect themselves and their business against potential claims in case of accidents. With the current claim culture society that we live in today, it is more important than ever to ensure that you are adequately covered.
In summary, it is the operator's responsibility to follow good practices, comply with legal requirements and take necessary precautions to ensure the safety of participants and operators. Please read and fully understand all guidelines before operating any inflatable equipment
Public liability insurance
While Public Liability Insurance is not a legal requirement, it is a crucial aspect of any business operation, especially those in the events industry. This is particularly important if you are hiring out inflatables or other equipment. Even with the best safety measures and precautions, accidents can still happen. Without adequate insurance coverage, your business could be at risk of facing significant financial losses or even legal action.
In today's claim culture society, it is more important than ever to protect your business and yourself against any unforeseen events that may arise. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you take out Public Liability Insurance against the hire of your products, so you can have peace of mind and concentrate on running your business

Method Statements
When organising an event that involves inflatables, it is important to have a clear method of working in place. While there is no legal requirement for this, it is strongly recommended for most organisations. Having a well-documented and communicated method of working can help to ensure that everyone involved in the event is aware of their roles and responsibilities and can work together effectively.
It is particularly important to have a clear method of working for mobile events where inflatables are being used. This is because these events often involve setting up and taking down inflatables in a variety of different locations, which can present unique challenges and risks. A clear and detailed method of working can help to ensure that these activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
At Better Bounce Direct, we have created a set of method statements for the erection and operation of our inflatables. These statements have been developed over years of on-site experience and are designed to help ensure that our products are set up and operated safely and effectively. While we cannot guarantee that these procedures will be suitable for every event or situation, we believe that they provide a strong foundation for safe and efficient inflatable operations.

Risk Assessment & the law.
When it comes to mobile events involving inflatables, it's especially important to carefully assess the risks and take steps to manage them. This is because the inflatables will be transported from place to place and set up in different locations, which can introduce additional hazards.
As an operator, it's your responsibility to ensure that the inflatables are safely secured during transportation and set up in a way that minimizes the risk of harm to participants. This includes ensuring that the ground is level and free from obstructions, and that the inflatables are properly anchored and secured in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines and any relevant regulations.
In addition to the physical risks associated with the inflatables themselves, there are also potential risks related to crowd control and general event safety. As such, it's important to have a thorough risk assessment process in place that takes into account all of these factors and identifies appropriate measures to mitigate them.
Ultimately, managing the risks associated with mobile events involving inflatables is not just a legal requirement, it's also essential for protecting the safety and well-being of participants and ensuring that your business operates in a responsible and professional manner.
then you are taking reasonable steps to prevent that harm. This is known as risk assessment and it is something you are required by law to carry out...........
