Custom Designs/ Bespoke Inflatables
At Better Bounce Direct, we are renowned in the industry for our technical design knowledge and ability to create bespoke inflatables using some of the most advanced technology in the world.
Each individual product we create starts as a simple drawing or model provided by the client or one of our own designers. We then move forward to the schematics stage, where our designers use software to create a technical drawing of the product. This gives the client a clear visual representation of the scale and proportion of the product, as well as providing us with vital information such as size, weight, and artwork requirements. With this information, we can provide an accurate quotation for the project to move forward.
Once we have finalized the design and agreed on the quotation, a deposit is paid, and the price remains fixed regardless of any unforeseen costs. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide clear communication and transparency throughout the entire design and manufacturing process.
Below is a case study of one of our favorite custom projects from the past few years, which we hope will give you an insight into what to expect and how our custom project works. We take pride in all of the products we manufacture, and we hope you enjoy viewing them as much as we did creating them.

Case Study of Alfie the Alien
The Alfie the Alien concept was brought to our attention by a loyal customer who had recently returned from a trip abroad. During their travels, they had a conversation with the owner of an Italian restaurant who owned and operated inflatable bouncy castles in outdoor play areas at the back of the restaurant. These inflatables, however, were looking old and worn and required an upgrade.
During the conversation, the owner of the restaurant served the customer's children ice cream presented in a novelty container of Alfie. The two joked that it would be amazing if the outdated inflatables out back were replaced with a giant 3D version of the ice cream holders as a large advertisement for the business.
Upon returning home, the customer brought the Alfie ice cream holder to one of our designers to get their thoughts on the idea. Our designer was inspired by the concept and began sketching out designs for what would later become Alfie The Alien. The concept was then presented to the restaurant owner who loved the idea, and three weeks later, our design team brought the idea to life
Once we were satisfied with the initial concept and had a clear idea of what the finished product should look like based on the visual sketches, we imported the sketches into our technical design software and commenced designing the product.
The design process took around seven days to ensure that all the details were correct and in line with our intended design. Once we were satisfied with the concept, our client requested a 3D visual to be created for presentation to their company. This enabled them to get a better sense of how the finished product would look and to make any necessary modifications before proceeding to the manufacturing stage
After completing the design model, we carefully disassembled it into individual parts and organized them by color. This step was essential to ensure that each component of the final product was cut to the exact dimensions required for assembly.
To achieve maximum efficiency and minimize waste, we stacked the parts on our virtual material in a strategic way that maximized material utilization. This allowed us to reduce the amount of material needed and improve the precision of the cutting process.
Once we were confident that the virtual plan was optimized, we sent the design files to our state-of-the-art CNC cutting machine. This machine uses computer-controlled precision cutting tools to cut out the parts to within 1/100th of a millimeter, ensuring that the final product would be built to the exact specifications of the design model.
By utilizing the latest technology and expertise in our manufacturing process, we can ensure that our custom inflatables are built with exceptional precision and attention to detail.
At this point in the process, the parts for Alfie the Alien have been precisely cut, labeled, and organized for assembly by our skilled machine operator. As there are no panels on the inflatable requiring artwork, the cut parts are sent directly to the assembly line in one of our many manufacturing facilities worldwide. There, our experienced machinists meticulously construct the product following a detailed diagram, which ensures the precise placement and fitting of each part. With their expertise and attention to detail, the final assembly is completed in just four days.
Once complete, Alfie the Alien is ready to be inflated and inspected. Our quality control team carefully reviews the product to ensure it meets our high standards and is safe for use. Upon passing our rigorous safety and quality checks, Alfie is packed up and shipped out to our delighted client, where it serves as an attention-grabbing promotional tool that reflects the unique and creative spirit of their brand.
