What to avoid with other suppliers (Usually Chinese)
Some manufacturers of bouncy castles and inflatables use low-cost printing machines and techniques that result in poor quality designs. They often print using a wide format printer, costing around £5,000, onto a 300GSM banner material which lacks structural integrity and is unsuitable for the job. This type of material may be suitable for Velcro type artwork, but it won't resist flexible movements and being rolled into a ball after every use.
When thinking of a shiny new banner, it might look lovely at first, but banners are temporary signs pinned flat to a surface or hung from a structure. They remain taut and flat for the majority of their lives. If the same banner were rolled into a ball and sat on for 5 minutes, it would never look the same again. The material used for banners is designed to be rigid, not flexible and not designed to be placed in front of children, all day, every day.
At Better Bounce Direct, we use high-quality materials that are specifically designed for inflatables. We don't use the low-cost printing techniques mentioned above. Instead, we use digital printing techniques that result in high-quality designs. Liquid lamination is used to protect the design and prevent fading and peeling in poor weather conditions, making our inflatables last longer. Why our printing stands out from the rest!
There are many many reasons why our printing stands out from the rest. We won't bore you with the trivial stuff, 1, because it's boring and 2, because we have worked very hard on perfecting the formulations and we don't want our competitors finding out how we do it.
The main reason being that we have trailed 28 different printers from 12 different manufacturers, combined with 35 different ink types and 12 different laminating solutions and procedures to reach a level we are happy with. This whole process has taken well over 3 years to trial and perfect as you can imagine. The results we have now though are fantastic and all our hard work has paid off.
The printing technology we choose to invest in cost over £300,000 when new and is the very best in its class. It's unavailable as an off the shelf machine ensuring the competition are miles behind anything we can produce. Our machines feature a massive 24, 3" wide heads mounted into a huge industrial printing machine that really is a monster. The machine can print a whopping 50 inflatables at 1080HD in any one day without even breaking a sweat.
The formulation we use is designed to print directly onto the very same 610gsm PVC we use to manufacture bouncy castles with ensuring maximum effect and longevity. The technology we use ensures that the bottom layer of ink is super-dried at and almost burned into the material as its cured. This ensures that it is hard enough to withstand everyday knocks, scrapes and bangs from energetic children and over-enthusiastic participants and n danger of delamination. The 2nd layer of ink always remains wet and flexible at a microscopic level which allows the inks to move and stretch around without migrating from the surface. It means that the PVC can flex, twist, fold, screw in a ball and behave exactly the same as it is designed to do so without damaging the print itself and its crucial to the printing on inflated PVC.
The technology we use is the exact same technique used to manufacture the curtain sides for Eddie Stobart trucks. As we all know, The Eddie Stobart trucks and trailers are guaranteed to last 5 years or 500,000 miles, whichever comes first. When we asked the manufacturers what the life expectancy they could offer on a bouncy castle, they simply laughed and stated 10+ years given its extremely low usage when compared to a Stobart Wagon on the road at 60mph, 365 days a year!
What themes do you offer as standard?
Our selection of bouncy castle themes is constantly expanding, with seven new designs added this season alone. Each new theme starts as a bespoke project for one of our clients worldwide, often beginning as velcro artwork. If the response to the project is positive (and with the client's permission), we may expand the theme to include some of our most popular items and showcase them at national trade shows or on our Facebook page when launching a new product.

Do you do any more themes not in the list above?
Absolutely! It would be far too impracticable to display every theme we've ever made in its own category and as such many of them never made it past the temporary velcro artwork stage. Can I change or provide my own artwork?
Yes, we are proud to manufacture all of the products featured on our website in-house, utilizing some of the most advanced commercial printers available today. We have the ability to customize any artwork themes or styles, which can be provided by you or created by one of our designers.
If your organization has the necessary design skills, we can provide you with a 1:1 scaled artwork file in an Adobe Illustrator CS6 format template for your design team to work with. Please ensure that the completed artwork file is returned to us in the same format as it was sent to ensure a smooth printing process.
If your organization does not possess the necessary skills, we can perform the artwork customization for you. If the design requires only basic design and substitution and the images are freely available on the internet, there is typically no charge. However, if the artwork requires the physical creation of images from scratch or for a vector file to be created, we would outsource the work, and a small fee would apply. We have a design company on retainer for ultimate reliability, whose services and rates are excellent, with prices starting from as little as £20 per panel. Standard proofs are not provided with this option.
If the images are supplied by the client, the minimum quality we expect is 1 megapixel. If a 1-megapixel image is unavailable, we will make every effort to source the correct-sized image where possible, with a minimum size of 1 megapixel, which is adequate for a viewing distance of approximately 3 meters. However, it will not be of the same quality as a vector image, as described above.
If the images required are not provided by the client, and we are asked to source them, the maximum quality we expect is 1 megapixel, which is adequate for a viewing distance of around 3 meters. Are your products made to order? Most of our products are made to order and tailored to your exact needs, unless they're listed on our "In Stock Products" page.

What are the delivery and lead times for your products? Delivery and lead times vary depending on seasonal demand and how busy our various factories are around the world at the time. Please contact our office to check availability prior to making your purchase. However, we have recently moved to a larger production facility and opened several smaller outlets, so we have good availability at this time of year.

What materials are used to construct your products? We only use the best quality materials in the construction of our products, and all materials are sourced in the UK. Our inflatables are manufactured from high-quality fire retardant reinforced PVC coated fabrics.

Do you offer a full digital print service for your inflatables? Yes, we now offer a full digital print service for our inflatables if required. Please visit our artwork section to take a look at the artwork we offer.

What copyright requirements must be met for custom artwork? All artwork must have copyright permission from the owner in order for us to process the files. Copyright will not be obtained on your behalf, and it is the client's responsibility to ensure that copyright is adhered to at the time of order.

Can specific RGB, CMYK, or PANTONE colour coding be used? If you require specific RGB, CMYK, or PANTONE colour coding, this must be included at the time of order, and we will send the drawing to an appropriate engineer for a quotation. If this information is not provided at the time of order, we cannot be responsible for any colour discrepancies.

What format should custom artwork be supplied in? All custom artwork must be supplied in a .AI format via Adobe Illustrator and must be a fully editable vector file for maximum quality. It must be exactly how you wish for it to be printed.
