Public announcement
Could I please ask anyone with a Betterbounce Funrun ref: BBOL-207 & serial number starting with BBSN-C13 to make contact at your convenience?
The serial number will be located on the front label or on your paperwork and look something like the following "BBS-C13-xx-xx"
Betterbounce Direct
0113 8878264
Contact has been made with many original purchasers, however, it's already been established that's a few have changed hands (Hence the post)
*Please note: This does not affect ANY Funruns currently in stock at Betterbounce Direct.
Why make contact?
Please rest assured that the inflatable is perfectly safe to use and your test certification is still valid providing you are fulfilling your obligation to ensure all inflatables are operational at 1kpa or above.
Unfortunately, 1kpa on some inflatables has to be achieved with a 2hp blower or double blowers, which despite being absolutely 100% compliant with EN14960, It isn't in the spirit of what we're about on smaller items as opposed to a giant obstacle course etc and we're keen to sort it out to meet expectations.
If you're happy with this then that's great, you don't have to do anything but many will not be.
Public apology
First of all, it's got absolutely nothing to do with the changes made due to deflation times as I originally suggested publicly. I got it wrong, for which I apologise.
It's a pure coincidence that the issues arose at a very similar time, which is what threw me and caused a delayed response & I should have acted quicker.
What's really happened? (Long version)
The CNC cutting program for the internals became corrupted around production code C13 and as a result, the internals were cut without airholes in place.
Our production manager & staff, having made well over 200 units decided to cut the airholes by hand from experience and not from a set template. Something that would not normally cause an issue in 99% of our products.
Each member of staff (with the production manager's permission) therefore manufactured a unit that looked identical from the outside, however, did not have the expected airflow and pressure we normally expect on a 1.5hp blower.
That is why the results have affected some and not others and have been unpredictable and why it's taken me so long to identify the cause, especially with most inflatables already being sold and offsite to check.
In hindsight, simply testing with a bigger than 1.5hp blower, despite being perfectly acceptable under EN14960 was a cop-out, has upset people and is not what should be expected from a company such as Betterbounce, for which I apologise again and aim to put right immediately.
(Short version)
We f***ed up, please contact us and we'll fix it at our expense using the most convenient method for yourself

How are we going to put things right?
We are happy with any of the following solutions which work best for you.
1) Collect it, fix it and return it at our expense.
2) Send out a 2hp at my expense to hit 1kpa as expected.
3) Send a diagram to your repair guy/ tester on how to get inside and cut the correct holes in the correct places to achieve better pressure and compensate you for the cost.
4) If it's still brand new, offer a collection and a full refund at our expense.
*Note: This will not affect any remaining in-stock products. All 37 in-stock funruns have been re-tested on a 1.5hp blower. 33 passed and 4 required alterations
