40 Years of Better Bounce – From One Man's Vision to the Next Generation of Inflatable Manufacturing

For more than four decades, Better Bounce has been designing, manufacturing and supplying commercial inflatables to customers across the United Kingdom and around the world.

Today, we're proud to be recognised as the UK's longest-established inflatable manufacturer, with over 1,500 inflatables in stock, more than 20,000 products supplied worldwide, and a reputation built on quality, innovation and customer service. But our story isn't just about bouncy castles—it's about the people who have dedicated their lives to building a business that customers can trust.

Where It All Began

The Better Bounce story started over 40 years ago when Martin Holmes founded the business.

Long before commercial inflatables became the huge industry they are today, Martin recognised their potential and built a company based on quality craftsmanship and honest customer service. Those early years laid the foundations for what would become one of the UK's best-known names in inflatable manufacturing.

Martin's passion helped establish the Better Bounce brand, and for decades it became synonymous with quality commercial inflatables throughout the UK.

A New Chapter

Around 15 years ago, Better Bounce reached a crossroads.

Having built one of the industry's most recognised brands, Martin decided it was time for someone else to continue the journey.

That person was Lee Scott.

After successfully building his own inflatable hire business and beginning to manufacture inflatables from an operator's perspective, Lee acquired the failing assets of Better Bounce with one ambition—to restore the company to its former glory and take it even further.

It wasn't simply about buying a business.

It was about protecting one of the industry's oldest and most respected names.

Rebuilding Better Bounce

The years that followed were some of the busiest in the company's history.

New product ranges were developed.

Manufacturing methods were modernised.

New materials were introduced.

Production expanded.

The team grew.

Eventually Better Bounce invested in purchasing its own 22,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Leeds, giving the business the space and stability needed for long-term growth.

What began as a turnaround project soon became one of the UK's leading commercial inflatable manufacturers.

Today, Better Bounce exports products across the globe and has supplied more than 20,000 inflatables to businesses on every continent.

Built by People

Businesses don't succeed because of buildings or machinery.

They succeed because of people.

Many members of the Better Bounce team have been with the company for well over a decade, with several highly skilled machinists bringing more than twenty years of experience to every inflatable they produce.

That experience is one of the reasons Better Bounce has earned such a strong reputation for quality, durability and attention to detail.

Investing for the Future

As Better Bounce continued to grow, so did its ambitions.

Rather than focusing purely on expansion, the business shifted towards building a stronger, more sustainable future.

Significant investment has been made in:

  • Modern manufacturing machinery
  • Improved production efficiency
  • Better materials and specifications
  • Expanded worldwide manufacturing capability
  • Product innovation
  • Increased stock holding

Today, Better Bounce holds over 1,500 inflatables in stock, allowing customers to benefit from fast availability while maintaining the quality the company has become known for.

Overcoming Challenges

Like every business, Better Bounce has faced difficult moments.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges to manufacturers across the world.

Thanks to the incredible loyalty of customers, the commitment of the Better Bounce team and a willingness to adapt, the business not only survived—it continued to grow.

Those years reinforced the importance of resilience, investment and never standing still.

Passing the Baton

Every great business eventually reaches a point where the next generation is ready to lead.

For Better Bounce, that moment came in 2026.

After almost 12 years with the company, Paige Green was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Director, having already taken responsibility for the day-to-day running of the business in late 2025.

Few people know Better Bounce better than Paige.

Having worked across customer service, sales, product development and daily operations, she understands both the business and its customers inside out.

Her leadership marks an exciting new chapter while continuing the values that have guided Better Bounce for over four decades.

A Strong Leadership Team

Paige is supported by Samantha Smith, Better Bounce's Technical Director, whose experience has been instrumental in maintaining the company's high manufacturing standards and commitment to safety and quality.

Meanwhile, Lee Scott has stepped back from the day-to-day operation of the business and now serves as Non-Executive Director, providing strategic guidance while allowing the next generation to lead with fresh ideas and new energy.

Together, the leadership team combines decades of experience with a shared vision for the future.

Looking Ahead

The Better Bounce story has never been about standing still.

It has always been about innovation.

From Martin Holmes founding the business more than forty years ago, to Lee Scott rebuilding and expanding it, and now with Paige Green leading the company into its next era, one thing has remained constant—our commitment to building exceptional commercial inflatables and supporting the customers who rely on them.

The business continues to invest in new machinery, new products, manufacturing technology and customer service, ensuring Better Bounce remains at the forefront of the inflatable industry for many years to come.

While we're incredibly proud of our history, we're even more excited about the future.

After forty years, the next chapter is only just beginning.
